Religion in the Eldarlands Worlds
Religion has played a major role in the development of the worlds of Eldarlands. While their influence is rarely felt outside the presence of their clerics or worshippers, there’s no denying the impact deity has had.
Wars have been won and lost over divine rivalries. Holy crusades have tamed previously unexplored lands in search of religious relics or ancient temples to long forgotten gods. Earth-shattering threats have been thwarted due to the involvement, or as some would claim warnings, of the gods and their followers.
Whether it’s a silent prayer, a sacrificial offering, or an unholy shrine, a great many peoples of Ur, and the other Eldarlands worlds hold at least some regard for the deities of their realm.
Clerics harness the power of their deity to perform miracles both in and out of combat. Some mages broker dark pacts with equally ancient and powerful beings, gaining access to unnatural magics otherwise unavailable to them. And some rangers hold a deep connection with nature, using the energies around them to influence the world to their liking. Whatever the source of their power, religion holds at least some sway with many of the most powerful creatures of the realms, and while it is clearly a major aspect of the Eldarlands worlds, not every character has, nor requires religion.
Player Characters of any race or class may choose a patron from the following list if they so desire. They may also choose any deity not listed, or forego the selection of a deity altogether. Such choice hold no impact on a character’s advancement or abilities. Religion within the Eldarlands LARP is merely for role play purposes and holds no authority or influence outside the game.
